I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Marko to the Wat Sri Boen Ruang International Buddhism Center’s Thai Temple Stay program.
Marko is hoping to spend a couple of months here, and while at the temple will be taking his Samanera vows.
Once again, on behalf of Bhante Dr. Apisit, the monks, novices, and lay devotees of Wat Sri Boen Ruang, welcome to your new home in Thailand, Marko. We hope you have a pleasant stay, and look forwards to the chance to teach you the Dhamma and vipassana meditation.

Yesterday morning(20-02-2012)after going on alms round and then eating, we broke camp at the Dhamma Garden Vipassana Meditation Center, waited for our transport to arrive and to deliver us, and our gear back to Wat Sri Boen Ruang.
The retreat went well and came to the attention of the local people, some who dropped in to see what we were up to, and an elderly lady who came each day to do some sweeping of the mindful walking areas.
I am looking forward to being able to hold more vipassana meditation retreats in the near future, but in the mean time will continue my practice here at the temple, work with our guests, and any other duties that I may be called upon to take part in.
Today is Buddha day and so part of my morning has been spent receiving offerings, taking part in the chanting in the Sala, and of course joining Bhante Dr.Apisit, the monks, novices, and our Thai Temple Stay guests in the bhojanasala for our meal.

I would like to take the opportunity to welcome Brandon to Wat Sri Boen Ruang.
Brandon has come up from Singapore to spend 10 days on the Wat Sri Boen Ruang International Buddhism Center’s Thai Temple Stay program.
Phra Fred is being kept busy at the moment with teaching the Dhamma to the six guests we currently have staying at the temple, as well as organizing various outings for them, while I am devoting much of my time to Phillip at our Dhamma Garden Vipassana Meditation Retreat Center, as well as coming to the temple each day to do meditation interviews and practice with the guests here.

I am happy to welcome on behalf of Bhante Dr. Apisit,the monks, novices and lay devotees of Wat Sri Boen Ruang, Eva and Monika to our Thai Temple Stay program.
As usual Phra Fred will be giving Dhamma talks and I shall be coming up from the Dhamma Garden vipassana retreat center each day to give vipassana instructions and to conduct individual interviews with all of our guests.
We which them all the best during their stay with us.

10 Day Retreat Starts Today.

This afternoon I will be moving down to the Dhamma Garden to begin our first 10 day silent vipassana meditation retreat.
I will return to Wat Sri Boen Ruang each afternoon to continue to have daily meditation interviews with our Thai Temple Stay guests, and of course Phra Fred will remain at the temple to give the daily Dhamma talks and to look after our guests.
I will check my emails while I am at the temple and will try to reply to any inquiries as soon as time allows.

New Alms Round

I have just returned from my new Alms Round route.
Due to moving down to the Dhamma Garden Meditation Center in a few days time, I felt it would be a good idea to establish a new alms round to go on.
This is my first change since coming to Wat Sri Boen Ruang 15 months ago.
While I have enjoyed seeing the smiling faces of the lay devotees on my previous route, this morning I have had the pleasure of a new lot of smiles,
I look forward to establishing this new route and hopefully being an inspiration to the local community as they see me each day,collecting alms,just as Lord Buddha did, 2500 years before me.

The email account of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Chiang Mai Thailand has been hacked and some one is now sending emails with a sob story asking for money. They even have an electronic signature attached. This is a scam. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep are aware of the problem and ask that you do not respond to these emails.
