Welcome to Wat Sri Boen Ruang in Fang, Thailand

We are located in Fang,  150 kms north of Chiang Mai, Thailand.  The temple is under the guidance of our Abbot-Dr. Apisit Pingchaiyawat.

Our location

Onthe grounds of the temple is a school, where our novices, and novices of other temples around the area come for their education. This is often the only opportunity these youngsters may have of getting an education as many come from poorer families.

Dr. Apisit is active in the community, building childrens’ recreation areas, clinics and is hoping to set up an internet cafe, where young people can come and use the facilities for educational purposes.

Wat Sri Boen-Ruang Temple

The temple has a small radio station that broadcasts to some of the villages in the out laying area so that the locals, who are often too busy to make it into town can stay in touch with temple activity.

We also run a program for foreigners, who wish to have a different sort of experience, here in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Phra Greg will give guided Vipassana meditation lessons

Foreigners can stay at the temple, on a donation only basis,and experience temple life, hear the Dhamma from a monk and learn Vipassana Meditation. People may also drop in for a one on one chat with a monk.

Phra Fred will give daily dhamma talks.
